Snacks and Drinks

Snacks and Drinks

At Eaves Primary School, we endeavour to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage children to make healthy choices throughout the school day.

Healthy snacks

Children receive a free portion of fruit or vegetables each day through the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. They may also bring a healthy snack from home if they wish.

Suitable choices include:

  • Fresh fruit or vegetables

  • A small portion of dried fruit

  • Yoghurt or cheese

  • A small bagel or breadsticks

  • Plain crackers or rice crackers

  • Fruit loaf or malt loaf

Please do not send crisps, chocolate or sweets as a break-time snack.

Drinks

Children should bring a clearly labelled bottle of fresh water to school each day.

Nut-aware school

Eaves Primary School is a nut-aware school. Please do not send nuts or products containing nuts into school. This applies to snacks, packed lunches and any food brought into school for trips or other activities.

Please ensure that all bottles and snack containers are clearly labelled with your child’s name. If you are unsure whether a particular snack is suitable, please check with a member of the school team before sending it in.

Thank you for helping us to support the health, well-being and safety of every child at Eaves.
