Public Duty Equality Statement

Public Equality Statement

At Eaves Primary School, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of school life. We believe that every child, family, staff member and visitor should feel valued, respected and included within our school community.

We work hard to ensure that all pupils have equal opportunities to achieve their full potential, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or background. Through our curriculum, policies and daily practice, we actively promote fairness, respect and understanding while challenging discrimination and prejudice.

Our school community celebrates diversity and encourages children to develop empathy, kindness and respect for others. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

In line with the Equality Act 2010, Eaves Primary School regularly reviews its equality objectives and monitors the impact of its policies and practices to ensure we continue to meet the needs of all members of our community.

Eaves Primary School Equality Objectives

At Eaves Primary School, our equality objectives are designed to support inclusion, wellbeing and achievement for all pupils.

Our current objectives are to:

  • promote an inclusive school environment where all children feel safe, valued and respected

  • ensure equality of opportunity and achievement for all pupils across the curriculum

  • narrow attainment gaps for vulnerable groups of children where identified

  • provide a curriculum that reflects and celebrates diversity within modern Britain and the wider world

  • develop pupils’ understanding of tolerance, respect and protected characteristics through assemblies, PSHE and everyday school life

  • support positive mental health and wellbeing for all members of the school community

  • strengthen partnerships with parents, carers and outside agencies to support children effectively

These objectives are reviewed regularly by school leaders and governors as part of our ongoing commitment to equality and inclusion.
