SEND and Inclusion

Every Child Valued, Every Need Understood, Every Opportunity to Thrive

At Eaves Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to flourish. We are proud to be an inclusive and nurturing school where all children are valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their very best.

We recognise that children learn in different ways and at different stages. Our commitment is to ensure that every pupil, regardless of their individual needs or starting points, feels a sense of belonging, experiences success and is able to participate fully in school life.

Excellence in Everything is at the heart of our approach. We have high expectations for all our pupils and work hard to remove barriers to learning so that every child can reach their potential.

Our Approach to SEND

At Eaves Primary School, we strive to support all children throughout their learning journey.

High-quality, inclusive teaching is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise, however, that some children may require additional or more personalised support to help them achieve their individual targets and make progress.

Through adaptive teaching, carefully planned interventions and appropriate reasonable adjustments, we aim to ensure that all pupils can access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum.

We work closely with children, parents and carers, staff and external professionals to identify individual needs, celebrate strengths and provide the right support at the right time.

Our approach is underpinned by the belief that every child should feel included, supported, challenged and successful.

Our SEND Team

We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential in helping children thrive.

If you have any concerns about your child's learning, development or additional needs, we encourage you to speak with their class teacher in the first instance.

Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Mrs R Bowles, works closely with staff, families and external agencies to coordinate support and ensure that the needs of pupils with SEND are identified, understood and appropriately met.

If you would like to speak with our SENCO, please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time.

St Helens Local Offer

The Children and Families Act 2014 requires local authorities to publish information about the education, health and social care services available to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), from birth to 25 years. This is known as the Local Offer.

The Local Offer helps children, young people, parents and carers understand what support is available locally and how to access it.
