Parents as Partners
Working in Partnership with Parents
At Eaves Primary School, we believe that children thrive when parents and carers are fully involved in their learning journey. We are committed to fostering strong partnerships with families, working together to support every child’s academic, social, and emotional development.
We recognise that parents are a child’s first and most important educators. By sharing information, celebrating achievements, and working collaboratively, we ensure that each child reaches their full potential. Our approach reflects the best practice highlighted by Ofsted, promoting open communication, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.
Through regular updates, parent workshops, consultation evenings, and informal conversations, we ensure families are informed, engaged, and confident in supporting their child’s learning. Together, we create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, inspired, and motivated to succeed.
Class Showcases
At Eaves, our Class Showcases let children share their learning with their families. Pupils demonstrate how different subjects connect and how they have deepened their understanding through trips, experiences, and hands-on activities.
These events show parents what their children know and can do and reflect how our carefully planned and sequenced curriculum supports every child’s progress.
By involving families in these meaningful learning experiences, we strengthen the partnership between home and school and celebrate every pupil’s achievements.
Learn in Class
Our Learn in Class sessions give parents the chance to step into the classroom and see learning in action. Families can observe how lessons are delivered, how children engage with the curriculum, and how knowledge is built and connected across subjects.
Parents also have the opportunity to take part in activities alongside their child, experiencing the learning first-hand.
These sessions support our commitment to a cohesive, well-planned curriculum and help parents understand how they can actively support their child’s progress at home.
Family Assembly
Our weekly Family Assembly is a celebration of our pupils’ achievements and successes.
Parents are invited to join when their child has been awarded an Excellence in Everything certificate, giving them the opportunity to see their child recognised in front of the school community.
These assemblies showcase the positive attitudes, effort, and accomplishments of our pupils, reflecting our high expectations and commitment to recognising progress and achievement.
By involving parents in these celebrations, we strengthen the partnership between home and school and inspire all children to aim high.
Parent Consultations
Our Parent Consultations provide a dedicated opportunity to discuss your child’s academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being.
These meetings ensure that parents are fully informed about what their child knows, can do, and understands, and allow us to work together to address any areas where additional support is needed.
Parents can ask questions, share insights, and engage in meaningful dialogue with teachers, reflecting our commitment to transparent reporting and strong partnership between home and school.
By keeping families informed and involved, we support every child to achieve their potential and ensure that learning is a shared, collaborative journey.
