At Eaves Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, achieve and reach their full potential.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools to support disadvantaged pupils and help remove barriers that may affect their learning, wellbeing or wider development.
At Eaves, we use this funding carefully and purposefully. Our approach is rooted in high expectations for every child and focuses on high-quality teaching, targeted academic support and wider opportunities that enable children to participate fully in school life.
We recognise that every child is unique. Decisions about how Pupil Premium funding is used are therefore informed by our knowledge of our children, assessment information and evidence about what makes the greatest difference.
Our commitment to The Eaves Way and Excellence in Everything means that disadvantage should never be a barrier to success. We want every child to feel that they belong, to be supported to achieve well and to have access to the experiences and opportunities that help them grow in confidence and ambition.

How we use Pupil Premium
At Eaves Primary School, our Pupil Premium funding is used strategically to remove barriers to learning, raise aspirations and ensure that disadvantaged pupils have every opportunity to achieve, participate and thrive.
We know our children well and recognise that disadvantage does not look the same for every child. Our decisions are therefore based on identified need, assessment information, attendance, pupil voice and the professional knowledge of our staff.
Our approach focuses on three key areas:
High-Quality Teaching
High-quality teaching is at the heart of our approach. We invest in staff development, assessment and evidence-informed teaching approaches to ensure that children receive consistently strong teaching across school.
Particular attention is given to the areas where we know our disadvantaged pupils can experience greater barriers, including communication and language, phonics and early reading, reading comprehension and writing.
Targeted Academic Support
Where children need additional support, we provide carefully targeted intervention based on their individual starting points and identified needs.
This includes support for speech, language and communication, early language development, phonics and reading. Assessment is used to identify gaps, plan appropriate support and monitor whether interventions are making a difference.
Wider Strategies
We recognise that children's achievement is influenced by much more than their academic learning.
Our Pupil Premium funding therefore also supports children's attendance, emotional wellbeing, resilience and readiness to learn.
This includes pastoral and therapeutic support, our social and emotional curriculum, support for families, work to improve attendance and punctuality, and access to wider cultural and enrichment opportunities.
Removing Barriers and Raising Aspirations
Our aim is not simply to provide additional interventions. We want disadvantaged pupils to experience the same high expectations, opportunities and sense of belonging as every other child at Eaves.
We continually review the impact of our provision and adapt our approach in response to children's needs. Our Pupil Premium Strategy is closely aligned with our wider school development priorities so that improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils remains a shared responsibility across our school.
