Safeguarding Statement
Statement of Safeguarding
Here at Eaves we thrive within an environment which is diligent in its approach toward safeguarding. We work on the proviso of a ‘no secrets culture’ (see whistleblowing/confidential reporting/Low level concerns policies) and treat disclosures/information with the utmost seriousness.
All staff have thorough and current safeguarding training. We have a prominent safeguarding team who have an extensive understanding of procedures including multi agency liaison, the prevent duty and safer recruitment training. This particular training ensures the screening procedure of prospective adults invited into our environment begins at the very first point of contact.
This statement draws upon good practice within the Local Safeguarding Children Board – (LSCB) which are commensurate with the Guidance document “Working Together to Safeguard Children” and “Keeping Children Safe in Education”. These guidance documents state that all education settings must have in place systems designed to:
• Prevent unsuitable people working with, or coming into contact with, children and young people within the setting;
• Promote safe practice and challenge poor or unsafe practice;
• Identify instances in which there are grounds for concern about a child / young person’s welfare and take appropriate action to keep children / young people safe;
• Contribute to effective partnership working between all those involved with providing services for children.
At Eaves our safeguarding ethos is deeply embedded within all elements of school life and is treated with the greatest significance. All staff, students and volunteers must feel able to raise concerns around safeguarding, unsafe practice and child protection.
