Home Learning at Eaves

Learning Together, Growing Together, Achieving Excellence!

At Eaves Primary School, we believe that learning is a journey that extends far beyond the classroom. Our approach to home learning is designed to strengthen the partnership between school and home, helping every child develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Through The Eaves Way – Excellence in Everything, we encourage children to take pride in their learning, demonstrate resilience and develop positive habits that will support them throughout their education and beyond.

Home learning provides valuable opportunities for children to practise and consolidate the skills taught in school, revisit important knowledge and share their achievements with their families. From enjoying stories together and developing reading fluency to practising mathematical skills and exploring exciting curriculum topics, every learning experience helps children build on their knowledge and understanding.

We place great importance on regular reading at home, recognising the significant difference that consistent reading practice makes to children's vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and overall academic success. Alongside this, our homework activities encourage children to apply their learning, develop responsibility and approach challenges with determination.

At Eaves, we have high expectations for the effort, care and presentation children demonstrate in their home learning. We encourage every child to take pride in their achievements and apply the same standards of excellence that we promote in school.

Above all, we recognise the invaluable role that parents and carers play in supporting their child's education. By working together, celebrating progress and encouraging positive learning habits, we can help every child flourish.

Together, we can inspire confident, curious and independent learners who are proud of what they achieve – both at school and at home.
